MILK IN SCHOOLS

Hundreds of blue recycling bins are heading to the South Island to be delivered to schools joining the Fonterra Milk for Schools programme.
We  are lucky enough to get milk in schools. Milk is packed full of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, vitamins and zinc. Calcium helps our bones grow strong!
The waste is sent to Thailand and recycled into roof tiles. We have a special way of folding the used milk cartons, so it does not take up too much room in the bins.

THE AWESOME TWO WEEKS WITH OUR TWO COLLEGE TEACHERS !!!!!!

For the second and third week we had two awesome collage teachers. Their names Were Miss Norman and Mr Newman. The First thing they taught us was Drama. Mr Newman was so funny. He taught us what he said when he missed his mum. It went like this: ring, ring, ring, ear-hair-low. He taught us how to do a freeze frame, wax works and body shapes. Mrs Norman was great fun too. She taught us how to make a collage out of ripped up magazine and glue. The main thing we were focusing on was blending the colours for effect and lucky for us we didn't have to rip up the magazine!
The two weeks we were with them were absolutely awesome!!!!

Term 1

Next week is the last week of Term 1. Everybody including Miss Pereira is looking forward  to a fun and relaxing holiday.
We have had such an awesome term. Here’s some of  our favorite things that we have been doing in term 1... At the start of the term we made name tags on comic life which was really fun. Then we drew self portraits and they look great! Swimming was next and it was very cool how we got to learn how to swim in a pool that got deeper and deeper even though it didn’t look like it did. On Year 5 Outdoor Adventure Week we went ice skating, rock climbing, to Moana Pool and had a 4 hour walk at Ross Creek. Then next it was International Day on the 28th of March. We dressed up in our national clothes and had a parade in the hall.  We also began mathletics! We all love the activities and competing against our classmates.
So as you can see we had an awesome term and can’t wait to find out what we’re going to do in term 2!!!
